Clustering and Synchronization

Clustering lets you group related servers together in a single logical unit. This enables you to spread the load across more than one server. This is called load balancing. It gives you greater reliability by allowing other servers in the cluster to take over if one fails. This is called high availability. If you want, you can set up the cluster so that if a server fails in the middle of a component call, another server will take over. This is called failover. Failover can be set up for stateless or stateful components. Note that there is a difference between high availability and failover.
