5.8 Multiple pump operation
A process application may require operation of more than one in a single system.
There could be a case where several pumps would discharge their flows in a common
delivery pipe. The configuration of such pumps is called as Parallel Operation.
There could also be a case when a single pump cannot meet the total head requirement
of the system and it has to be shared by various pumps. The configuration of such pumps
is called as Series Operation.
When pumps are operated in parallel, they work against a common pressure. In this
