The software architecture of a system promotes, enforces, and predicts the quality attributes that the system will support. Quality attributes are those system properties over and above the functionality of the system that make the system a good one or a bad one from a technical perspective. There are two types of quality attributes: those that are measured at run-time and those that can only be estimated through inspection.
