The Capability Maturity Model (CMM) is a model for evaluating the maturity of a process within an organization. Originally conceived in 1987 through the inspiration of Watts Humphrey from IBM, CMM has evolved through the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University.
