Know If You Are Getting It

When you’re comfortable with your advisor, you can start to work together to meet your financial goals. Remember to periodically assess whether you are continuing to be taken care of as you had anticipated.

In Chapter 13 we talked briefly about a little “test” we use to evaluate investments and also people. Look at your investments and ask yourself if, knowing what you know now, you would buy them again. If the answer is no, then you may need to sell them. The same applies to your relationship with your advisor. Ask yourself, knowing what you know now, would you hire this person all over again?
