Children of English-speaking families growing up in America generally
learn to speak English. Yet a child raised in Louisiana will sound very
different from a child raised in the Bronx. The same is true of neural
networks. Two different researchers may train their networks to learn
the same thing, yet the networks may perform quite differently in
some ways. The subtle prejudices inherent in an experimental design
can creep into the network's mind, influencing it in ways that, for
