Data Interpolations

In numerical analysis, interpolation is a method of constructing new data points within the range of a discrete set of known data points. In science and engineering, we often will have a number of data points obtained by sampling and experimentation, and we must try to construct a function that closely fits those data points. This process is usually called curve fitting or regression analysis. Interpolation can be regarded as a special case of curve fitting in which the function must pass exactly through the data points.
