Customizing Shortcuts

You have probably noticed that I tend to favor hot key shortcuts. When working on a project, it’s just so much more efficient to use the hot keys over the menu navigation. Even the simple click of selecting a tool adds up to a lot of navigation time. As an example, imagine that you were constantly sampling a color and painting. You could go to the eyedropper tool, then go back to the canvas and select the color, then go back and select the brush, then go back to the canvas—or you can simply press the Alt/Option key while in Brush Mode to select the color and continue brushing on release.
