Chapter 7. Adding Transitions

In editing, a transition is the way one clip replaces the last. Although the cut is the most basic transition, the term transition usually refers to a more gradual change from one clip to another. Adobe Premiere Elements 2 ships with loads of customizable video transitions, including an array of dissolves, wipes, and special effects. You can also transition between audio clips using two types of crossfade.

You select the transition you want from the Effects and Transitions panel, which lists not only video and audio transitions, but also video and audio filters in categorized folders.

Adding a transition is as simple as dragging it to a cut in the Timeline panel. You can even make adjustments to the transition’s duration ...
