Chapter 5. Viewing Clips in the Monitor Panels

As their names imply, the Source and Program Monitors let you see your footage much as you would on the video monitors in a traditional video-editing suite or the screens on a flatbed film-editing table. The Monitors are modeled after an entire editing station, complete with editing controls to play back your clips and assemble them into a sequence. Not that the Monitor panels merely emulate their predecessors—they have features and advantages you can find only in a digital, nonlinear editing program.
