Horizon dashboard

In the previous Horizon dashboard exercise, we created a 1 GB Cinder block volume. In order to use the volume, we must attach it to a virtual machine instance. Before proceeding with this exercise, make sure you have no current instances running from the exercises in previous chapters.

We will need to boot one Nova instance. We will then attach our Cinder volume to this instance and write some files to it. If you forgot how to create a tenant network, subnet, and virtual machine instance, follow the instructions found in Chapter 5 and Chapter 6.

Here are the details. Assume default values for anything not specified:

Network/subnet

  • Project: quality-control
  • Network Name: tenant-network-dashboard
  • Subnet Name: tenant-subnet-dashboard ...
