CHAPTER 11

PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS

11.1  INTRODUCTION

This chapter is devoted to the examination of case studies in order to illustrate the various aspects that are involved in the analytical design of fluid power systems and the evaluation of component performance.

11.2  METER-IN CONTROL

It is required to select an appropriate valve for an actuator having a 50-mm piston and 28-mm rod diameter that is supplied from a fixed displacement pump of 35 L min1 capacity with a relief valve setting of 150 bar. The required actuator velocity is 0.2 m s−1 with an actuator force of 10 kN.
