If security personnel are conscious of the risks of explosive devices and can recognize their com-
ponents, camouage, or disguises, then they will easily detect clues to their presence. Unfortunately,
clues may not be present. A neat and tidy bomber will leave no trace of his or her work unless it
is a “lure” to draw personnel into a kill zone. However, an untidy or ill-trained bomber may leave
external visible clues, which include:
Abandoned vehicles•
Abandoned vehicles on routes•
Accidents/crashes on routes•
Disturbed ground, small hollows after rain•
Military containers of ammunition/explosives•
