Change Management

No change management process is exactly the same, but they will all have some essential elements. When you construct your change management plan, you can incorporate these elements. They all help contribute to making change constructive and not destructive. They allow your SharePoint system to evolve just quickly enough not to succumb to entropy. I’ve illustrated these elements in a process flowchart in Figure 9-12. Here are the pieces:

  1. Some kind of form to capture the details required for the change request.
  2. Someone to review the initial request and ensure it has all the appropriate details correctly provided.
  3. An assessment of the business impact of the change.
  4. A Change Advisory Board (CAB) will approve/reject the request. ...
