3.1. Introducing RadInput
The RadInput set contains five controls. Four controls—RadTextBox, RadMaskedTextBox, RadNumericTextBox, and RadDateInput—each allow users to enter a particular type of value and automatically restricts the values users can enter to that type. The fifth control, RadInputManager, provides RadInput functionality to ASP.NET text boxes. They all automatically handle parsing of values that the user enters and formatting those values for display.
Although the controls differ, they share some common functionality and features, such as keyboard and mouse wheel support, skinning, empty message support (also known as watermarking), labels and buttons, rich client- and server-side APIs, and much more.
