Pro Tools has four basic edit modes that determine how regions can be moved in your session. Each mode is unique. As you gain experience with each of them, you’ll get a feeling for which mode is best suited to any given task. To demonstrate how each mode works, we’ll work with the drum track of the Chapter 5 tutorial session.
When you need flexibility, Slip mode gives you the most freedom of region movement.
Click on the Slip Mode button. The mode will be selected (indicated by the word “Slip” being shown in black text against a green background).
