2. Loops & Recording

In this chapter, you’ll be using the same Learning PT session that you created in Chapter 1. You’ll download and import some drum loops from the Internet and learn how easy it is to import audio into Pro Tools.

After we place the drum loops into the session, we will learn how to resize and move tracks around. We will also take a brief look at the Mix screen and then repeat our one-bar drum loops to make 50 bars so that we have more audio to work with. We’ll then begin an introduction to recording. Our final exercise will teach you how to record using punch-in and punch-out settings, so you can correct any mistakes made during recording.
