WMI has been around for quite some time. It has its quirks and difficulties, but it offers huge benefits to its users. The hardest part about WMI is the ocean of information that surrounds us. WMI's greatest strength—being comprehensive and covering all aspects of Windows administration—is also the biggest obstacle to people using it. There are too many classes to effectively memorize, and their instances have so many properties that it is impossible to learn them all and start using them by hand.
