The BOX setting refers to the box at the top left of the table grid (above the rows and to the left of the column headings). If you are creating a single-page table, you can take advantage of this space to include a title for the table. You have the option of entering the exact title between quotation marks or by using a variable name. If you use a variable name, PROC TABULATE displays the variable’s label (if it has one) or the name of the variable.
