LONG-TERM GAGE CAPABILITY EVALUATION FOR VARIABLES

After the short-term gage capability for measurement apparatus has been established with acceptable precision, you can start using it on your production line. However, this is not the end of the story for gage capability analysis. You have to also determine a gage’s long-term stability and capability on your production line. Most long-term gage capability analyses are performed for a period of a month by recording measurement data each consecutive day. If you want to shorten the duration of long-term gage capability data collection, you can also take data in the morning once and in the afternoon once to cut the duration in half.
