It should be also noted that in Figure 10.5 initial conversions were 100% for all
catalysts and gradually decreased with time on stream. Such type of behavior could
in fact correspond to the situation when not the whole catalyst bed is active and just a
fraction of the catalyst is sufcient to afford complete conversion. Numerical analy-
sis of data in Figure 10.5 is therefore extremely challenging. Detailed quantitative
