CD Contents
I decided to include a standard audio CD with this book, rather than a CD-ROM, for a couple of reasons. I wanted you to be able to play it on the best speakers you have, which are more likely to be part of your stereo system or home theater than connected to your computer. I also didn't want to limit the CD's usefulness to a particular platform or software generation—there's nothing colder than last year's shareware. Most of the examples on this disc will be valid as long as CDs are playable.
Of course, you should also use this CD as source material for the exercises and tutorials. I suggest you transfer it digitally—most NLEs have a way to strip audio tracks from their CD-ROM drive—to preserve sound quality and ...
