Chapter 5. Constitutive Models*
Abstract:
This chapter presents various types of constitutive models and their applications. There are 3 aspects dealt with in this chapter, namely: creation and solution of property models, the application of parameter estimation and finally application examples of constitutive models. A systematic procedure is introduced for the analysis and solution of property models.
Models that capture and represent the temperature dependent behaviour of physical properties are introduced, as well as equation of state models (EOS) such as the SRK EOS. Modelling of liquid phase activity coefficients are also covered, illustrating several models such as the Wilson equation and NRTL equation, along with their solution strategies. ...
