About the Cover

The picture shown on the cover is a machining computer simulation for the ejector die that supports die casting of a tracked-vehicle roadarm. The simulation was carried out in Vericut based on a machining simulation created in Pro/MFG. The toolpath created in Pro/MFG was converted to CNC codes and imported to a HAAS 3-axis mill. An aluminum block was mounted on the workbench and machined to the ejector die on the HAAS mill, as shown in the background. This task was primarily carried out by Mr. David Gibson, a former graduate student in the School of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering, University of Oklahoma, Norman.
