How do You Pick the Colors You Need?
It is difficult. There are useful guides out there, but sometimes it is a bit of a shot in the dark using them. Probably the most common aids to color selection are the books in the Pantone range or other tint books from a variety of sources.
I deal specifically with Pantone Matching System (PMS) colors in Chapter 10, so I will not say much about them here. However, if you are using the Pantone Process Guide, or the Pantone Solid to Process Guide, or any other kind of tint book, read on.
The Pantone Process Guide is definitely the one to use when you are trying to create CMYK tints for a print job.
