The Business of Production

If a film is the last travelling circus then the job of the production manager is that of the ring master. They are the people who arrange for the ‘acts’ to arrive punctually and economically. Essentially it is their job to ensure that the ‘circus’ runs smoothly.

In order to do this the production manager must understand the financial as well as the organizational aspects that have to be met in a production. In other words the production manager needs an understanding of the business of production.
