Custom Workflow Installation

It is fairly common to create custom workflows when building a Plone system. Plone 3 ships with several useful workflows, such as an intranet workflow and a community site workflow, but security and approvals processes tend to differ from site to site, so you will often find yourself modifying these stock workflows to fit your particular use case.

It can be convenient to experiment with workflows in the ZMI, but as we learned in Chapter 4, you should create the final version on the file system using GenericSetup. This can be done from scratch, by copying an existing GenericSetup profile, or by exporting the Workflow Tool step from portal_setup in the ZMI.
