At the time of writing, most add-on products are still old-style Zope 2 products. However, the Plone community has recently begun to use Python eggs to distribute software. Therefore, eggs are likely to become more important as a distribution mechanism for Plone products in the near future.
We have already seen how to install an egg: list it in the
buildout.cfg file under the
eggs option, as we did with the
optilux.policy egg in Chapter 5. This works so long as an egg is available in the Python Cheese Shop. If it is packaged for download somewhere else, you can enter the URL of a web page linking to it under the
