In Chapter 36, “Web Application Deployment,” you saw a number of different ways that Web applications can be deployed quickly and painlessly. Certainly, the technology involved in automating the deployment of Web applications has come a long way over the past few years. In fact, it has gotten to the point where it is quite possible to provision a server, deploy an application, run tests, and then decommission the server using nothing but scripts.

While this sounds nice, it is actually a major component of a rising practice within the software development world: Continuous Delivery (CD). In this chapter, we look at the tooling available through Visual Studio 2017 and Team Foundation Services to help support this endeavor.
