CECOMPONENTWIZ: ADDING CONTENT TO AN IMAGE

In the following section, Catalog components are created for the drivers that add the driver DLL file and registry settings to an image as a subproject. Those activities make use of another Codeplex Wizard that integrates into Platform Builder in a manner similar to CEDriverWiz (see Chapter 33, “Developing a Stream Interface Driver”). First, look at using the CEComponentWiz Wizard. The form for the wizard is shown in Figure 44-8.

This wizard creates a subproject of a Compact 7 OS project that collects together resources as files and copies them to the release directory when the subproject is built. The user selects existing files on the development system for inclusion. The project generates a BIB file that is also copied that specifies the inclusion of those resource files in the image. Modules are by default included in the Modules section of the BIB file, whereas other files are in the Files section. The BIB flags and location section can be modified in the wizard after a file has been added. The wizard also facilitates the creation of shortcuts for resource files and the specification of which folder on the OS the shortcuts are to be placed.
