CHAPTER 8Value‐Driven Programs and Hybrid Work
This chapter focuses on understanding the importance of designing programs as value‐driven strategy execution vehicles. The leading entity of that design remains to be a Program Management Office (PMO) format. The name of such an entity could vary, yet a central entity for owning the continual cultural focus on value is critical to have. Part of the focus of this chapter is the importance of being sensitive to the delivery approach that is most suitable to a given program and organizing around that.
Program managers are at the center of this accountability for ensuring that our programs are value‐driven. They are tomorrow’s impact drivers.
8.1 VALUE‐DRIVEN WAY OF WORKING
This topic must be a key focus for your growth, whether you are a part of a PMO, playing a program/project coaching role, and/or working on programs/projects within the PMO. Value connects us. Having a clear link to the strategy behind our actions or our programs is key to our success both personally and professionally.
