CHAPTER 13Change Scientists

This chapter is focused on the role of change scientists and how data and trends enhance decisions and enable future change success. Change management is such a complex topic and in many cases, it spills into organizational changes, and even other implications on business models. For programs to deliver the anticipated benefits and outcomes, we need to have fluid access to data to enhance governance, accelerate speed of decisions, and give us the ability to tilt fast as the conditions change. It is the intent here to potentially see the change scientists helping in filling this important void.

The Program Way, led by many of these change scientists, could be a result of changes in the business model, or it requires changes to the business model. As programs develop new products, the result can be changes that are necessary in the organization's business model. Change scientists use their collaboration skills, data analytics, and the power of Artificial Intelligence to simulate what the future organization needs to shift to, and what changes in how success is viewed, results in specific actions that they should drive.
