I would be surprised if you told me that on your desk next to your PC there was still a large and bulky CRT computer monitor. In a matter of a few years the entire personal computer industry has shifted to the new technology: flat LCD panels of ever larger size and higher resolution. In the embedded-control world, something similar has happened. LED seven-segment displays are so 1990s!
