Name
GetPageContext
Synopsis
Acts as a wrapper for the Java
PageContext object. This function returns an
object containing the attributes, methods, and other configuration
information available to the current page. Using this object, it is
possible to look up various information concerning the current page,
such as scope and variable values. This function can also be useful
for integrating ColdFusion with J2EE applications as it provides
access to request and response objects. Additionally, include and
forward methods are exposed, making it possible to communicate with
JSP pages using the equivalent of jsp:forward and
jsp:include. To see the contents of the object for
the current page, simply dump it using the cfdump
tag:
<cfdump var="#GetPageContext( )#">
Method objects can be viewed by dumping them as well:
<cfdump var="#GetPageContext( ).getRequest( )">
This retrieves the server name from the getRequest
method:
<cfdump var="#GetPageContext( ).getRequest( ).getServerName( )#">
The following example includes a JSP page named hello.jsp in your ColdFusion page while passing it a URL parameter:
<cfoutput>
#GetPageContext( ).include("hello.jsp?name=Joe")#<br>
</cfoutput>
