The previous two chapters introduced you to the basic and more advanced online analytical processing (OLAP) features in Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services 2008. The feature set is a combination of groundbreaking capabilities introduced in Analysis Services 2005 and elegant enhancements new to 2008; other features are merely carryovers from earlier versions of the product, but even those are now more accessible.
