18. Managing Project Files Locally and in the Cloud

With Office 2013, Microsoft has increased your options for where you save your files. As an Office 2013 product, Project is no different. Saving files remotely is now an expectation, not an exception. In some cases, this makes your life easier. In others, it adds some complexity to what was a simple, established process.

Project files are similar to any other Office file. People tend to start with the last best version of a project similar to the new one they are starting. This often leads to a pluralization of idiosyncratic and quirky approaches to managing similar projects—projects that would really benefit from some cross-group standardization.
