INITIATING A PROJECT is the formal start of the project management life cycle. Project initiation communicates to the project stakeholders that there has been a commitment of funds, resources, and time to the project purpose. It is the portion of the project that identifies the project framework, assigns authority to the project manager, and establishes the vision for the project.
