Working in project partnerships


In public service and academic institutions, partnerships underpin almost any kind of project. For most externally funded projects and programmes collaboration between a range of different partner organisations is a prerequisite, intended to stimulate cross-sectoral (and in the case of European Commission funding, cross-border) cooperation and maximise the impact and effectiveness of project outcomes. This chapter considers the benefits and challenges of partnerships from a project management perspective, the building and reviewing of working partnerships and project governance structures.
