Fostering Effective Teamwork

Clearly one of the most important responsibilities of the PM is to foster effective teamwork. This can be a challenging task. One of the characteristics of skilled technical performers is that they have well-developed points of view about things—how tasks should be performed, the definition of words, what’s “right,” methods to be used, automated tools that are “best,” and so forth. Managing a group of technical performers so that they are all pulling in the same direction and, more specifically, supporting one another, can be daunting.
