TRAINING THE TEAM
Teams need to train in all the environments in which they will operate.
They need to train with the same equipment, as they will carry on a detail.
This provides the individuals and the team as a whole with the knowl-
edge of what works and what does not in situations such as moving in
the rain or heat in the sweltering environments with body armor under a
suit; holding an umbrella while wearing a raincoat and suddenly having
to respond to an ambush; in cold environments, shooting with gloves on;
and using ashlights while ring on hostile subjects. All this and more
need to be practiced repeatedly.
