and the target (any current or former military or SWAT sniper can provide
the formula). This is important to understand, as while the building may
be only 100 meters away, the actual distance, because of the angle, may
be farther. While generally the distance change is only small, depend-
ing on the weapon system being employed by the protective detail, it can
still make all the difference. Ideally, if faced with such a threat, a trained
sniper should be brought in to assist the advance site survey.
