The old adage about poor planning and the resulting performance
is exceptionally true here. The more detailed the survey, the more likely
the team is to detect possible hostile surveillance and lessen the poten-
tial of false positives or “ghosts,” as they are more commonly referred to
in intelligence vernacular. Questions, such as, Who resides in the area?
What cars are normally present and where are they parked (remember
the general public are creatures of habit and, therefore, will park in
the same general area every time they return)? What areas are viable
positions to maintain an “eye” on the frontage of the location, targeted
vehicle, etc.? What areas of potential HSPs are visible from the interior ...
