Summary

In this chapter, we have gone through the system migration processes for different scenarios including a physical machine, VMware, XenServer, and Hyper-V Server to either OpenVZ containers or KVM-based VMs. In most cases, suffering from downtime is inevitable, which means that we have to make a proper plan before starting with the migration.

Next, we will take a look at how to perform the backup/restore processes on the Proxmox server, create an OpenVZ template for future deployment, and recover a failed Proxmox cluster.
