Policymaking by Different Types of Organizations: Similarities
Organizations can be classified into three types: businesses, not-for-profit organizations and the State. All of them make policies. Common to the policies made by the different kinds of organizations are some features:
- Policy is a set of decisions that guides the conduct and activities of the organization and its functionaries.
- In every large and mature organization, there are prescribed procedures and approval levels for policymaking.
