1. Clausewitz (1780–1831) was a Prussian general and military thinker; his magnum opus, On War, is unquestionably one of the most important works ever written on the theory of warfare and strategy. His theories are of interest not only to military strategists, but also to diplomats, historians and students of politics and policymaking. His strategic thinking has recently been extended to business.
