Running a Web Service and an HTML5 Dashboard

In the preceding chapter, we implemented a simple monitoring client, discussed how to receive data over a Bluetooth connection, and displayed the data in a chart as a time series with the help of the Qt Charts module.

However, what if we wanted to enable the monitoring client to connect to a remote broadcaster? In such a scenario, a short-range connection such as Bluetooth would not help at all, and we would need to rely on a different technology, such as an HTTP server or other kinds of TCP-based connection.
