One of the most difficult things I see occurring with HR leaders who begin to dabble with analytics is that the INSIGHT does not match up with their hunch. Say the following out loud:
I am not always right with my assumptions.
This is a difficult statement to make. It instantly suggests that you are flawed in some way. Maybe after saying this, you feel like you are not worthy of the position you are in. Don’t worry - you are no different than any other HR or business leader out there. They also have made assumptions about data with similar results.
