What makes someone a “good” or “bad” employee? There is no simple or clear answer to this (other than “depends”!). However the importance of the question has generated many theories, based in large measure on psychology but also other disciplines such as anthropology. These ideas have influenced the ways in which HR functions and anyone seeking to follow HR as a profession should have at least some understanding of them.
