The decision to merge/acquire
Permanence is not a common feature in today’s world. Change is almost certain from time to time in order to accommodate new developments. One change which can have a dramatic impact is to join forces with another organisation, often a former competitor.
The decision whether or not to take this step is often analysed in several different ways at once. Does the proposed target add value by virtue of geographical cover, its product range, improved supply chain or technical skills? Strangely, the human aspect, beyond the most obvious points, such as how many employees there are and where they work, is often overlooked.
