1936,

chain
air-warning
system
against
day
bombers
was
assured,
the
much
more
difficult
question
of
intercepting
night
bombers
came
up
once
again
. It

never

far
from
our
minds
and
after
the
first successes
at
Orfordness
it was
placed
on
the
growing
list
of
projects
which
would
be
attacked
when
staff
became
available.

later
years I saw a
good
deal
more

than
I
did
at
that
time
and
it
became
clear
that
it was

and
the
members
of
his
Committee
who
were
thinking
ahead
and
providing
the
leads.
